Other highlights:
-
At
English Point, Mombasa a turtle was found entangled in a fishing
net, during the underwater cleanup. It was safely
untangled and released back to sea!
-
At
Lamu - Takwu Beach another turtle was discovered ensnared by a
fishing net and safely released back to sea.
-
A
dead cat was found in a plastic bag!
-
A
toilet seat cover and an old rusty cooking point was found by
divers.
-
Beach
cleaners found 'zillions' of discarded flip flops.
-
A
barbed wire fence was found half buried by sand. Valiant
volunteers borrowed shovels and pickaxes from a nearby restaurant
and dug it out. The restaurant owner agreed to dispose of
it!
